The kitchen at the DARE School by Srishti was the melting pot of talent.
The school kitchen was the podium of creative development for the older children at DARE. The educators at the school engaged their minds & challenged their skills by making preserves and jams. In1993, as a part of the DARE project, a small preserve unit came to life, producing strawberry preserve. The strawberries from estate gardens were the source of the ingredients in the wholesome preserve that became a household favourite in Munnar within a couple of months.
Strawberry Preserve
Seasonally grown strawberry from the Gardens at Srishti as well as strawberries procured from farms & farmers across the country and are preserved to create the much loved High Range Strawberry Preserve is created.
Pink Guava Jam
Pink Guava are preserved to make the much loved High Range Pink Guava Jam.
Passion Fruit Sauce
Passion Fruits are procured from farms & farmers in Munnar & other hill-stations where they grow abundantly in season and are preserved in the High Range Passion Fruit Sauce.
Plum Jam
Plums have always been a legacy of the mountains. Plums are procured from farms & farmers in Munnar & other hill-stations where they grown abundantly in season and are preserved in the High Range Plum Jam.
Our Story
To be able to generate livelihood for the specially-abled young adults who finished their schooling at DARE. The High Range Kitchen encouraged 12 young adults with a passion for cooking and the ability amidst their disability to sharpen their skills were supervised by one Manager at the strawberry preserve unit.
In 2003, High Range Preserve Unit became a Welfare Institute with a separate fully-functional production facility in Nullathani. Starting with 50 bottles of strawberry preserve known as High Range Strawberry Preserve was a local brand. Today Nisarga or the popularly known High Range products makes over 1 lakh bottles of Jams, preserves, sauces & squashes and is a national brand.

Specially-abled young adults are engaged in cleaning & preparing, processing & bottling the HighRange Preserves, Jams, Sauces & Squashes prepared with seasonal fruit either grown locally or sourced from farms in neighbouring states.
Our products are available across the country today and are commonplace at breakfast tables countrywide.
